The trip to Chennai and Pondicherry was an enriching experience for the students of GDBMS – classes IV to XII. They were excited to board the plane as it was the first air travel for many of them. Their stay at Hotel Emerald was cosy and comfortable. Their excitement and curiosity gripped them while walking through the well-preserved antique artefacts and fossils of the prehistoric animals at the Chennai Museum. Their visit to the local market was splendid. With vendors ballyhooing and buyers bargaining, they got a glimpse of the typical Indian market.
Pristine beaches and impressions of the French colonial rule - that was their introduction to one of India’s most beautiful Union Territories, Pondicherry. The Rock Beach and the resplendent statue of Dr B R Ambedkar at Mani Mandapam was the centre of attraction they enjoyed as well.
